Greenstone Spring Recommendations!

Tanera

To read: I have just bought Abigail Dean’s latest, THE DEATH OF US. This one looks different to her first two, which I loved, and I’m looking forward to sinking into the hands of an author who I trust will deliver! I’m also lining up THE ENDING WRITES ITSELF as I have seen it everywhere and the premise is excellent: a locked-room thriller, set in the wilds of Scotland, with authors as our key cast?! Sign me up!

To watch: I am loving BIG MISTAKES on Netflix. Dan Levy is such a brilliant writer (Schitt’s Creek!) and the comedic jeopardy, easy-watching tone of the series is exactly what I’m looking for when I switch on the TV. DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2 is also on my hitlist for Spring/Summer! I know nothing of the premise but what’s not to love about Stanley Tucci, Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Emily Blunt back on-screen!

To listen: I’ve been enjoying a podcast called THE BOOK CLUB, which provides historical/contemporary context to famous and bestselling titles. It’s interesting finding out about the world in which each book was written, rather than just focusing on the usual book club topics. I’m also listening to THE REST IS ENTERTAINMENT and finding it a fun way of getting my fix of celebrity media!

To read: I’m really enjoying YESTERYEAR by Caro Claire Burke. It sucked me in from the opening pages and I can’t wait to see where it goes. The exploration of the Trad Wife influencer phenomenon is fascinating. I also recently read REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES by Shelby Van Pelt. This has been on my kindle for ages and seeing the announcement of the Netflix version starring Sally Field bumped it up my TBR. I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to see Marcellus, Tova and Cameron brought life on screen.

To watch: I recently fell very hard for LOVE STORY: Carolyn Basset and JFK Jnr. I loved everything about it and am now listening to the Spotify soundtrack on repeat and am obsessed with anything connected to the Kennedy family or 90s New York fashion. I went to watch Rosamund Pike in INTER ALIA at the Wyndhams Theatre last week and am telling everyone I know to go and see this brilliant performance and production. I was completely transfixed.

To listen: Not my usual genre, but so many people have recommended the audiobook of PROJECT HAIL MARY by Andy Weir. I’m not naturally drawn to sci-fi but loved THE MARTIAN. I’m only a few hours in but am already hooked. I recently finished listening to the podcast FRAUDACIOUS which is the story of Ekaterina Barrett – the glamorous Knightsbridge/Monaco resident-come fraudster. If you read a book based on this, you would think it too unrealistic. Jaw-dropping stuff!

Liza

To read: I have just finished THE KNIGHT AND THE MOTH in anticipation of THE KNAVE AND THE MOON coming out soon. I loved the atmosphere of this book, the storytelling was impeccable, the magic, the betrayals — all of it made the perfect read for me! On my TBR list is DOMINION by Addie E Citchens, as well as the rest of the Women’s Prize shortlist. Give me a church scandal any day of the week and I’ll be happy.

To watch: I’m diving into the second season of Beef on Netflix. I enjoyed the messy, tangled web of the first season and love anything with Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan. I’m also enjoying The Testaments on Hulu, as well as the reboot of Malcolm In The Middle which I watched when I was a kid — life’s still unfair!

To listen: I’m currently listening to the audiobook of YESTERYEAR, and have LÁZÁR on deck. I’ve really been enjoying audiobooks as they allow me to read while giving my eyes a rest after work! They’re the perfect thing while commuting or walking around town.

To read: I ticked off one of my most anticipated reads of 2026, YESTERYEAR by Caro Claire Burke and loved it, there was something so believable about the story which I think makes it all the more terrifying! I also read another one of my most anticipated reads, HELPLESS by Jessica Knoll, it was so compelling and walked the line of thriller and a dark romance incredibly well. I'm looking forward to finishing PEOPLE IN LOVE by Claire Daverley which has been a refreshing read after so much action.

To watch: I went to see THE DRAMA in cinema and thought it was really good! There is so much about the story to dissect afterwards and the cast was a perfect fit for this A24 movie. The sun came out in England and so I did a rewatch of THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY season one, need I say more? I also started season one of THE PIT, I'm only a few episodes in and wow, not a relaxing watch if that's what you're after but gripping.

To listen: I tuned in to CALL HER DADDY episode with Sarah J Maas of course, and screamed with joy. I've been focusing on my physical TBR so haven't been listening to anything new recently. My mother did have been listening to a podcast with theologian, philosopher, and exorcist Father Ripperger about Exorcism and the exploration of evil in society today, it was an intense and interesting listen/
