I’ve just read and loved The Names by Florence Knapp. It had been on my radar since before it was published, but having just had a baby myself (and struggling with the responsibility of naming him!) I waited a little before starting. I loved it: such an original idea, brilliantly executed. I also enjoyed B.K. Borison’s Good Spirits over Christmas: it had all of the cosy, festive, feels I wanted from it! Next on my list are When the Cranes Fly South by Lisa Ridzen and It Should Have Been You by Andrea Mara. I’m enjoying reading a mix of genres, currently!
To watch:
I am loving the new season of The Night Manager: I think I must have seen the first season at least three times, so it’s a treat to dig into the new storyline. I am also very excited to watch The Housemaid: like millions of others, the book completely gripped me and so I’m looking forward to sinking into the story and seeing how the adaptation compares with the book.
To listen:
I’m currently listening to the Wuthering Heights audiobook in anticipation of the film release. I’m really enjoying listening to a classic, as even though the story isn’t new to me I feel I’m consuming and interacting with it in a different way. I am then looking forward to listening to Oliver Burke’s Four Thousand Weeks, which comes highly recommended.

Most anticipated:
My most anticipated for 2026 is the new Wuthering Heights movie! Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi, and Emerald Fennell, the director behind Promising Young Woman and Saltburn… what’s not to love?!

To read:

I recently read and loved Virginia Evans’ The Correspondent. Written entirely in letters, I found Sybil’s written communications, relationships and life journey deeply moving. I’m also keen to read Miranda July’s All Fours – so many people have talked to me about this book with mixed opinions, I really want to read for myself! Next on my TBR is Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy, which some trusted reader friends have assured me I will love.
To watch:
I’m looking forward to indulging in all the 90s nostalgia with the new Take That documentary on Netflix. I’ve also been waiting for the whole of Series 2 of The Night Manager to be released so I can binge in one go. I can’t wait to see where they take the characters after the ten year hiatus from series 1. And gearing up for the winter Olympics, the Netflix ice dance documentary Glitter to Gold has my name all over it!

To listen:
My biggest listening recommend is the new full-cast retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice on Audible – all the swoon, wit and yearning of the original – I loved it! I have also been completely captivated by the true crime podcast Unicorn Girl – the story of Candace Rivera, jaw-dropping stuff. And for edge-of-your-seat suspense, Adrift is the podcast based on the true story of a family who sell everything to travel the world and end up lost at sea – I could not stop listening!
Most anticipated:
Most anticipated for 2026 – it has to be the new series of Bridgerton. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever and the release date is in my diary!

To read:

I’ve just finished reading God Of The Woods by Liz Moore. As someone who grew up in that part of New York State, I thought the book perfectly encapsulated the atmosphere of the Adirondacks and the society politics of the time. The weaving of perspectives into a layered narrative was masterfully crafted and the twists and turns at the end were ones I did not see coming. I cannot shout about this book enough.
To watch:
I’ve been watching the Olympics! There’s nothing more gut wrenching, inspiring, and tear-jerking than watching the ups and downs of extreme athletes putting it all on the line. Along these lines, I cannot wait for the latest season of Drive to Survive to hit Netflix. Drama + fast cars = yes please. These are the type of nonfiction stories I love to see on screen and on the page! I have also been watching the latest season of Bridgerton along with the rest of the world.

To listen:
Bouncing into my headphones this week is the dystopian fantasy To Cage A Wild Bird by Brooke Fast. True to her name, this is a fast moving book with a great set up and I cannot wait to see where it goes - no spoilers please! I’m also listening to Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy. This is another gorgeous literary thriller with a layered narrative and a spooky shoreline that has me reaching for another cup of tea so I can stay up late listening!

Recently I finished Here Lie All the Boys Who Broke My Heart by Emma Simmerman, I loved the campus murder mystery with a side of romance, it was so binge-worthy. I'm now reading Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll and have Bright Young Women also lined up to read before Helpless comes out in July!
To watch:
I devoured Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bassette, the 90s nostalgia aesthetic was impeccable and I ended up watching In Vogue: The 90s after. Reading my colleagues responses it looks like I should watch The Night Manager?!
To listen:
I'm listening to Girl Dinner by Olivie Blake, I had the privilege of seeing her speak last year at a Toppings Bath event. After reading Here Lie All the Boys Who Broke My Heart I was eager for more campus chaos. I'm also listening to A Fate Forged in Fire by Hazel McBride and am LOVING the narration, it is so immersive.

Most anticipated:
For 2026 I'm super excited for Wench by Erynne Rivers coming out in July, Helpless by Jessica Knoll also coming out in July, and A Good Person by Kirsten King coming out in May, a year for the messy FMCs!
